The association DSF has been set up in november 2006. Its goal is to reduce North-South disparities. It aims at doing so by connecting social organizations in the South with international solidarity actors in an open manner.
Matching available resources with lacking ones, DSF constantly aims at optimizing everyone’s initiatives to encourage and facilitate participative project management.
In concrete terms, this means DSF chose to prioritize three complementary fields of action:
· The setting up of a network of solidarity recruiting agencies, so as to enable Southern organizations to reach international volunteers and recruit them.
· The implementation of an online information system to facilitate the flow of information and thus generate combinations between needs and demand.
· The training and support for international solidarity actors to improve the quality of the programs and their relevance/sustainability.
Our substantial work triggers many opportunities that can be developped thanks to DSF members’ implication. Ethical aspects and usefulness of the projects are ensured by the concept of Fair Voluntary Service. DSF is willing to cooperate with companies, institutions, local authorities and also to create partnerships with other Northern associations.
